Schweitzer 08-09 Season Passes Now on Sale Mar 14, 2008
Sandpoint, ID Schweitzer's 08-09 season passes go on sale beginning March 15th, 2008, and are available at last year's prices until June 1st, 2008. Adult Sunday through Friday passes are $399 and adult unlimited passes cost $599 if purchased before June, when they will increase to our standard early purchase rates.

National Safety Awareness Week, January 19-25, 2008, is an annual event of the National Ski Areas Association that highlights ski resort safety education efforts and aims to increase slope safety.

Sandpoint, ID - Schweitzer Mountain Resort opens more terrain and lifts on Saturday, December 8th. The Basin Express high speed quad and the Lakeview Triple are opening, allowing access to the top of Schweitzer Bowl. From the top, Ridge Run will be open but not the steep chutes of Schweitzer Bowl.

Snowmaking machines are being utilized to supplement the anticipated natural snowfall that is expected to begin on Saturday night and continue during the coming week.

The Inland North West Ski Association launches their new website, along with a new moniker that together will better identify to the rest of the world the great location and terrain in the region. 'As our resorts gain national recognition this new name will help orient people outside of our region along with communicating to the regional visitors a sense of pride that our terrain and resorts are exceptional!' said Brad McQuarrie, president of the Inland Northwest Ski Association.

Snow in September? Yes, on September 20th it snowed at Lookout Pass & 49° North! We hope this means winter is just around the corner. We've already received some good news form the National Weather Service. According to the National Weather Service, the Northwest Region is in for a wetter than normal winter as the result of La Niņa conditions.

It is currently snowing at the summit of Chewelah Peak. This is the first sign of winter seen at 49° North Mountain Resort this fall and we are elated. We hope this means winter is just around the corner.

Sandpoint, ID - Skiing Magazine readers voted Schweitzer Mountain Resort as number 21 in the magazine's annual survey to decide the top 25 ski resorts in North America. By receiving this rating, Schweitzer joins the ranks of well known destination resorts such as Whistler, Alta/Snowbird, Jackson Hole, and Crested Butte. Schweitzer is nestled in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of the Idaho panhandle and the northwest Rocky Mountains. Schweitzer Reports Best Summer Ever Sep 11, 2007
Sandpoint, ID - Schweitzer Mountain Resort's Fall Fest on Labor Day weekend marked the end of summer chairlift operations and pushed the resort beyond previous summer visitation records. On Sunday, September 2nd, during Fall Fest, more people enjoyed riding the Great Escape Quad than ever before on a single summer day, excluding free days. Overall, chairlift rides purchased this summer were 14% above the previous record last summer.

"North Star" Chairlift Installation Proceeds as Planned Sep 09, 2007
Lookout Pass is pleased to announce that the new "North Star" chairlift installation is proceeding as planned for the 2007-2008 ski and ride season. All line towers were flown this morning via a K-Max helicopter provided by Timberline Helicopters based out of Laclede, Idaho, (see attached photo).
