Snow in September? Yes, on September 20th it snowed at Lookout Pass & 49° North! We hope this means winter is just around the corner. We've already received some good news form the National Weather Service. According to the National Weather Service, the Northwest Region is in for a wetter than normal winter as the result of La Niņa conditions. |

It is currently snowing at the summit of Chewelah Peak. This is the first sign of winter seen at 49° North Mountain Resort this fall and we are elated. We hope this means winter is just around the corner. |

Schweitzer is nestled in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of the Idaho panhandle and the northwest Rocky Mountains. Sandpoint, ID - Schweitzer Mountain Resort's Fall Fest on Labor Day weekend marked the end of summer chairlift operations and pushed the resort beyond previous summer visitation records. On Sunday, September 2nd, during Fall Fest, more people enjoyed riding the Great Escape Quad than ever before on a single summer day, excluding free days. Overall, chairlift rides purchased this summer were 14% above the previous record last summer. |

Lookout Pass is pleased to announce that the new "North Star" chairlift installation is proceeding as planned for the 2007-2008 ski and ride season. All line towers were flown this morning via a K-Max helicopter provided by Timberline Helicopters based out of Laclede, Idaho, (see attached photo). |
